Immigration to Germany, never so high since 1995*

1.8 million people, many from European countries in crisis, have migrated to Germany in 2012. Compared to the previous year (2011) there’s an increase of more than 13%, these figures derive from the Federal Ministry of the statistics.

The former Minister for Family, “Von der Leyen” (CDU) spoke of a very positive evolution:

We must not only talk about figures, but also about the quality of migrants which is improved”said the minister to the newspaper “Die Welt”,”It helps our country to make it younger and even more international ; as a matter of fact, Germany is becoming a mandatory step for production technical knowledge in Europe.

The statistics reveals that there are currently 966,000 migrants from non EU countries ( more than 15%). In addition to these there are about 115,000 Germans who emigrated to the south of Europe, opened up various activities (See the Balearic Islands), and now have decided to return to Germany because of poor social condition that they live due to the recession.

The data in detail, show that:

The majority of migrants came from Poland (176,000).
Followed by Romanians (1116.000).
In third position from Bulgaria (59,000).

In particular there has been a percentage of migrants from countries affected by the recession in Europe,

The Spanish have made a +45% compared to previous years
The Greeks and the Portuguese showed each a +43%
But even the number of Italians has increased of +40%

The percentage of people coming from eastern countries has also risen, because in 2004 and 2007, there have been the entry of Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia into the European community.

The majority of them moved to the strong German economy regions, that is to say
in Bayern <Bavaria> (with 192 thousand migrants), followed by the “Nordrhein-Westfalen” <Nordreno-westfalia> (186 thousand migrants) in Baden-Wüttenberg (171 thousand), Hessen (90 thousand) and Bassasassonia (89 thousand migrants).

However these figures do not not say how many of them returned to his native homeland or were expelled because they did not meet the requirements to stay.
Of course, the good health of the economy of Germany, today as yesterday is attracting more and more migrants in search of fortune.
